She watched her maternal grandfather Paul Poche' Sr. use plants from his garden to solve everyday problems—colds, burns, and discomfort—long before she fully understood the science behind it.

That curiosity stayed with her and was nurtured by her loving parents Gary and Nita Champagne, and her beloved Science teacher Mr. Raphael.

Nearly 30 years ago, while studying biochemistry at Texas Southern University—where she later earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry—Alita created her very first skincare product: a lotion.

“I can’t believe that was almost 30 years ago.”

That moment sparked something.

After becoming a chemist, the idea of creating products never fully left her—but like many dreams, it sat quietly for years.

Until it became personal.

When her daughter began experiencing skin challenges, Alita did what she had always done—she researched, studied, and formulated a solution.
